Can you guess with which two simple ingredients, you could
clean almost anything at your home? Water and vinegar can help you solve every
day cleaning problems like dirty glass windows; stained wooden or tiled floors;
getting rid of unwanted odour from your bathroom, and unclogging bathroom
drains and kitchen sinks. The acid in vinegar cuts through tough stains, and
when diluted with warm water, turns into an almost universal cleaning solution.
Here are a few simple cleaning tips from Movguru for your
home using these two powerful ingredients.
Clean Your Floors
Prepare a solution comprising 1 cup of vinegar and 3 cups of
water. Pour this solution into a spray bottle, apply it over the stained area
on your floor and wait for 8-10 minutes. Next, take a rag and wipe the area
clean, or use a mop to restore the shine of your floor.
Clean Glass Windows
Mix 1 cup of warm water with ½ a cup of vinegar in a bowl.
Dip a sponge in this solution and wipe the windows with it. Clean from top to
bottom in straight lines, so that the excess liquid drips in the same
direction. Next, wipe the windows with a damp cloth. And finally, wipe dry with
a clean, dry cloth to ensure no watermarks remain.
Get Rid of Odors’
If there’s a strange smell in your bathroom that you can’t
seem to get rid of, try leaving a bowl of undistilled vinegar in a corner
overnight. This should solve the problem and remove the unpleasant smell.
Unclog Your Drains
This process requires a third ingredient - baking soda. Take
½ a cup of baking soda and pour it into the drain. Next, pour ½ a cup of white
vinegar in as well. The vinegar acts as a disinfectant and foams up when mixed
with baking soda. Let this mixture stay in your drain for 30 minutes. Finally,
pour a bucket of warm water down the drain to flush out any residue.
